Mark 1:4 and 9
4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
9 And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.
Christ was not baptized for the remission of sins because he had none. But, as Nephi recounts, he was baptized for the following reasons:
(1) As a token of humility before the Father;
(2) As a covenant that he would keep the commandments;
(3) As a prelude to receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost;
(4) To gain entrance to and be saved in the kingdom of God, for no one, not even the Son of God, can so obtain without baptism; and
(5) As a pattern and an example for all men, and so that he could say: “Follow thou me” and also, “He that is baptized in my name, to him will the Father give the Holy Ghost, like unto me; wherefore, follow me, and do the things which ye have seen me do.” (See 2 Ne. 31:5–12.)

Re: What would your email be if there were another Brandon Bryan?
Hola, mamacita! como le va?!
well, this week went by fairly well. not TOO bad, but not horirble either. BUT, we did have our baptism with Fernando! :D YAY! I've got pictures of that, so I'll get that sent with this email. :D as for Jesus, we have just barely started teaching him again, because of work and school, but we had a really fantastic lesson with him last night about the plan of salvation. it was a really sweet lesson. It was also a really deep one, but it's ok, he's more of a deep thinking kinda guy, and he's always got super awesome questions. which is sweet as well. so yeah, we're working on him. :D but he HAS told us "when I get baptized..." so he's definitely been considering it a LOT.
Ha ha ha! speaking of my toe, I got a package from Great grandma and in her letter she was like "my goodness, what happened to your toe?" ha ha ha! I thought it was funny. but yes. I ALSO got a package from Grandma Jan, so I'll be getting back to them both through letters soon. :3
sweet! you made Tawny a rice crispy treat cake. that's pretty cool.
what a second. you HAVE the pippy picture?! ARE YOU SERIOUS?! heck YES I want that! do you realize how much gold that thing is worth?! at least 20 pieces. do you know what I could buy with that? I could almost buy a full iron broad sword for that much. or maybe like thirty candy bars. but other requests for my package... Hmm... I'm not too sure... I just bought myself some shampoo and condish... OH! you know what would be good? witch hazel and cotton pads. :3 that would be nice. I'm just about up with both of those, so they would be very enjoyable to have. :D other than that.... uh... I dunno. you can think of something, right? :D
oh, did you get the chance to let Breanna know about her letter? and did they stop by to get it?
yeah, I did hear about Chile... that's really crazy. it was just HUGE! 8.9, wasn't it? and then the other one right before it! ha ha ha, maybe 2012 really IS the end of the world, eh? xD that's crazy awesome about those missionaries in the Santiago mission getting those dreams too. just one more example of how the Lord is keeping his eye on us! :D but yes, being prepared... that would be a good Idea. I'm thinkin' you guys should do it, eh? :P
speaking of the sling bag, I've been cutting back as much as possible with using it. I've been really trying to keep the stress off of it. HOWEVER, I called up sister Dewsnup about four days ago and brought it up to her, cause it just kept getting worse and worse. She told me that she had actually had the same thing happen to her. guess what she told me to do? she said that her doctor told her that all she needed to do was to go for a twenty minute walk every morning. WOW, it almost seems too easy to be true. but you know, these last four days Ive been doing that for my morning exercise and its already getting better! HA! YES! she told me that it could take up to about two or three weeks for it to fully go away, but still! all this tension in my neck has really messed with my voice, too, and now I can feel it coming back, little by little. *sniff sniff* it just makes me so happy! it really does seem to be "that easy"! :D I'll get back to you about it in about two weeks to let you know how it's goin. :3
wait... was I really wink winking about someone coming here to this mission? I don't remember... lemme check that really quick. AH! ha ha ha! well, I hadn't really been thinking about anyone in SPECIFIC, I mean, like, who WOULDN'T like to serve a year and a half in the CARIBBEAN? also, president Dewsnup said that even FAMILY could if they wanted to. you know, don't be afraid to just talk to some people in the family that are fairly close to home. I doubt it would be a problem, to, you, just bring it up. maybe at the dinner table. with family. you know. HA HA HA! plus, like, everything is basically paid for. just saying.
I know... I didn't get back to Robin last week... I really meant to! I really did! but Elder Harvey finished with what he was doing and I didn't get the chance to! :'( but I'm going to this week. no problem. :)
so for the applications to LDS BC, it's just three LIMITED essays? SWEET! I don't mind that! I guess I really WONT have a problem getting in if it accepts people like Pierce does. that's good to know. :)
yes... you're right... I DO need to email Ehren... did you say he got transferred to WYOMING?! how does THAT work? I thought he was the salt lake SOUTH mission? wouldn't that mean SOUTH, not north? I coulda sworn... ha, maybe it was opposite day when they sent him his mission packet? :D
aw man, I really love the Area EFYs. those are cool. all of the speakers when I went were really good too. I'm glad you got to go. :D and speaking of the DI... you know, if you gt the chance to go there again, you wouldn't min looking for some really eye wateringly awesome ties, would you? cause I definitely wouldn't mind some sweet variety. :D
I'll talk to Annie today to see if there's anything spiffy that she would like. heh, heck, I could just tell her to EMAIL you about it, huh? xD but yeah. ok, now I'm off to go email robin. for realsies this time! :D
SWEET!
you guys have an awesome week! Thank you Grandma Jan and Great Grandma for the packages! expect some letters soon! :D
~Brandon (Elder Bryan)
